The Czech Society for Histo- and Cytochemistry is a successor of The Czechoslovak Society for Histo- and Cytochemistry founded in 1966. The Society provides an interdisciplinary forum to support a study of the relationships among structure, chemical composition and function in cells and tissues by histochemical, immunohistochemical, and cytochemical methods. The Society is a member of IFSHC (International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry, www.ifshc.org). The Society promotes its members in development and improvement of histochemical, immunohistochemical, and cytochemical methods used to discover a content and function of the tissue and cellular systems in situ, and application of the methods for diagnostics.
The Society:a) supports development of histochemical, immunohistochemical, and cytochemical methods in the interested laboratories in the Czech Republic in collaboration with the same Societies abroad b) organises courses, workshops and meetings (Progress in Basic, Applied, and Diagnostic Histochemistry) throughout the year to encourage education and discussion on theoretical and applied aspects of histochemistry and cytochemistry concerned with cell biology and its interface with molecular biology c) supports participation of its young members in Congress of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry (IFSHC) as much as possible d) supports collaboration of members from Czech Academy of Science and Universities |
